Object properties panel in VR and environment controls on screen

This release spans both VR and screen, with 2 main updates: Screen gets a tool for inspecting geometry from the inside out. VR gets a controller option that gives you more consistency when drawing.

See your object's dimensions and stroke length in VR

object properties panel

The object properties panel is now available in VR as a tab within the Selection tool and Edit mode menus. For any selected object, it shows the object type, name (if set), XYZ position, dimensions, and stroke length. It sits within the menus you’re already using, so the data is always close to hand.

Previously, getting the accurate length of a drawn line meant exporting to another tool. For wire harnessing workflows, where a drawn path represents an actual wire route, this removes that detour entirely. You can read the stroke length in VR and use it to estimate material requirements, compare routing options, and check design constraints, all without leaving the tool.

Set your environment without switching to VR

environments

A new environments button in the screen app opens a settings panel with the same controls available in VR: preset environments, background, reflections and lighting, shadows, and light direction. Changes apply immediately for everyone in the room and are available to creator users.

If your team works across both screen and VR, getting everyone onto the same visual baseline used to require whoever controls the environment to be in VR. Now anyone with creator permissions on screen can make that change directly. It also means you don’t need to put the headset on just to adjust lighting before a review.
