Refreshed Gravity Sketch plans

Developing and maintaining the advanced features and functionality of the Gravity Sketch platform involves significant engineering, and infrastructure costs. These are services we need to keep reliable, fast, and secure requiring continued investment and development.

When looking at existing usage data and considering free and professional workflows, certain features emerged as being of greater value to business users’ workflows than others. Gravity Sketch’s plans will soon be updated to better reflect these different types of users.

Updates begin rolling out from February 24

From February 24 2026, updated Gravity Sketch plans will be rolled out. Plans will be rolled out in two stages: from February 24 users will see an initial round of changes. Some functionality or restrictions may not be in effect until after the second round of updates, within the months following.

These plans have been created around three key groups of users, with varied access to cloud storage, collaboration, security, and import / export functionality. Creativity however, shouldn’t be locked behind a paywall, and core creation tools will still be accessible to all.

The new restrictions put in place on the free plan have been designed to minimize the negative impact on the majority of free users, while still providing them with creation at no cost. It’s important to note that Rooms do not count towards a user’s storage limits. This means creation kept within the Gravity Sketch platform is boundless for everyone.

Free plan – for testing and community collaboration

Gravity Sketch’s free product gives you unlimited access to creation tools and unlimited room creation for community collaboration. You can now share your work easier than ever, with a six-digit access code, and up to three collaborators in a room at once.

Included in Free:

Full access to Gravity Sketch’s creation tools. This includes sketching, surfacing, and geometry tools.
Unlimited imports of 2D, OBJ, STL and native Gravity Sketch files
Unlimited exports of 2D, OBJ and USDZ files
Unlimited Rooms accessible to any user by link or code for easy collaboration
Collaborate in real-time with up to 3 people in a room at once
150MB cloud storage, excluding Rooms

Key restrictions of Free:

Evaluation tools, such as View Points and the Section Tool are not included
Drafts and offline working are unavailable (existing Drafts can still be viewed and imported)
Import and export file types are limited to the above formats
Room sharing permissions cannot be edited
Collaboration with an organization can only be done as a viewer

Plus – provides enhanced capabilities for individuals

Free doesn’t always provide the more advanced tools needed to push workflows further. Plus is built with hobbyists, freelancers, and single-person business users in mind. It offers extended collaboration, more storage, and more export options.

Included in Plus:

Full access to Gravity Sketch’s creation and evaluation tools
Unlimited imports and exports of all available file types
Unlimited Rooms and Drafts with enhanced sharing permissions
Collaborate in real-time with up to five people in a room at once
3GB cloud storage, excluding Rooms and Drafts

Key restrictions of Plus:

Collaboration with an organization can only be done as a viewer
No data localisation or backup

Businesses – for professional product development teams

These plans give access to the full suite of Gravity Sketch tools, plus increased storage and security controls to better support business use cases.

Included in business plans:

Full access to Gravity Sketch’s creation and evaluation tools
Unlimited imports and exports of all available file types
Unlimited Rooms and Drafts with enhanced sharing permissions
Collaborate in real-time with 10 people in a room at once
10GB cloud storage, excluding Rooms and Drafts, per user
User and team management

How to upgrade to Plus

From February 24, individual users can upgrade to Plus within the “Manage account” section of the Gravity Sketch web app. An “upgrade” link will take you to a Stripe subscription page and payment processing. The price point of Plus will remain the same as Pro, however in order to serve more users with access to Plus, you may now be charged additional sales tax on your subscription. This is a legal requirement so we can support a greater number of locations in purchasing Plus.

Special license types

Early Adopter

Some users have Early Adopter status. You’ll have been awarded Early Adopter status automatically if you are eligible. You can find out if you’re an Early Adopter by going to “manage account” in Landing Pad or the Gravity Sketch web app, and seeing if there is a rosette with a star next to it. On hovering over this you should see the words “Early Adopter”

All Early Adopters with a Gravity Sketch account will be given access to a year’s subscription of Plus at no cost. This is in addition to their existing upgraded level of storage.

Educational institutions and students

For educational institutes, there will be no changes to product access for any users belonging to an education organization.

Individuals with an email address using an educational domain will be treated as free users of the product. In this instance we recommend joining your institute’s existing educational organization in Gravity Sketch (ask your place of study), or reaching out to set up a new organization.
