Section view on screen and thumbstick brush switching in VR

This release spans both VR and screen, with 2 main updates: Screen gets a tool for inspecting geometry from the inside out. VR gets a controller option that gives you more consistency when drawing.

The section view tool is now available on the screen app. Click the “Section view” button in the toolbar, drag to define a section box, and use the gumball to reposition and resize it. The section object is shared with VR and persists with the room, so any changes are immediately visible to everyone, across both modes of working.

Previously, adding or adjusting a section meant jumping into VR. Being able to set it up from screen is more convenient for anyone who runs reviews or walkthroughs from a monitor. It’s particularly useful when you need to inspect internal routing, check clearances, or communicate how a form is constructed to stakeholders who aren’t in headsets.

Switch brushes with the thumbstick

The thumbstick on the main controller can now toggle between 2 modes. In brush scaling mode (the current default), left and right adjust brush size. In tool switching mode, they cycle through the brushes or objects in your offhand menu.

Click the thumbstick to switch between modes. The currently selected brush appears as an icon on the thumbstick, with a brief tooltip confirming any change.

For workflows where stroke diameter needs to stay consistent, accidental thumbstick movements have always been a risk. This update lets you lock into a mode where the thumbstick cycles tools instead, without ever affecting stroke thickness.
